My name is Dominic Kamp, I’m from Germany and currently work for a bank in Switzerland. I discovered photography in Summer 2007 when I bought my first DSLR camera. On photography platforms like Flickr and Picasa I discovered my passion for landscape photography and have since then, created a portfolio of +300 works and +100 desktop wallpaper. Photography is not only a hobby to me but a way to relax and rest my mind. Once I grab my camera, I sometimes find myself almost hypnotized with the beauty of our surrounding environment. The perfect balance to a stressful workday!
I never specifically studied photography from books or classes but found “learning by doing” the best solution to pick up theoretical and practical knowledge. In the past I often saved my favorite photos of other photographers to my phone so that the next time I was out shooting, I could easily see how the photo was taken and learn new techniques. I think, when you do photography, similar to many other areas in your life, you live and learn.
